This was painted from an image I took of the statue of Cain in front of the Louvre in Paris, France. The colors of the sculpture, the sky, and the building all created a nice contrasting palette which I tried to exaggerate in the painting. The sculpture is of Cain after he has killed his brother and was confronted and banished.
