The reason I chose the title for this piece it delves into a largely glossed over period of the American history. I created this piece in a period of my life learning about the American Indian history of the United States My inspiration in creating this piece is the simplicity of it coupled with the deep roots.
Hey everyone. My name is Alex Hodges. I am a born and raised Kansas City artist. I graduated with a degree in history from the University of Kansas, focusing on military history and cultural histories of developing nations. I began traveling at a young age with my family, until I got a wild hair up my ass, got the itch and I ventured out on my own. I have since lived in Tanzania, South Africa, France, Romania, Belgium, Argentina and Ghana and explored and experienced a nice chunk of the world and the wonderful cultures and people that go along with it. Most of my work abroad has been for nonprofits, some for international media, and some too crazy to discuss on the Internet. Currently I am in law school focusing a lot on international law. My passion for culture, people, history, and the developing world is reflected in many of my pieces.
