A little country ball park near Kirkland WA. Often this little ballpark was obscured by mist and fog but is sometimes sunny by game time on the weekends. I would pass by this little park each morning on my way to work.and it seemed to call out to me to come back when a game is on.
I chose a sunny day to paint and discovered it was green on green everywhere. Lots of green up there.
Many "pick up" games have been played here over the years and I still hear echos of the small group of Saturday fans.
BILL STEWART I'm a retired "Mad Man" from the ad agency business. I love to work in an impressionistic style and have become interested in some of the older and traditional techniques such as egg tempera and making paint by mixing the raw pigments into linseed oil. i enjoy experimeting with various medias and explore areas of a looser, "brushy" style to escape the confines of the tight commercial art word. Living in the San Francisco Bay Area, we are influenced by the vivid, sunlit colors and strong shadows along with scenes sometimes cloaked in fog. I enjoy painting landscapes in plein air as well as in my studio. Also, I love still life, some figurative painting and abstract. I work in both oil and acrylics and some watercolors and dyes.
