The artistic interplay between color and texture has a strong influence in my work. I began my career in fashion fascinated with all the hues, tints, shades and combinations of textiles. My fine art applies these with my love of narrative, nature, and the abstract.
In narrative, the mix of mediums and the artifacts I have been collecting get integrated into the art to highlight the its history.
Nature, in its diverse organic forms, always inspires and delights. I use traditional approaches but embellish throughout to better capture “blue skies of Sunday afternoons.”
My abstract uses my experiences to express a sense of my spirituality through the art. This body of work becomes my positive innermost vision of the world. Through collage and mixed media I endeavor to create a tapestry of color and light.
Whether I am telling a story, sharing my appreciation of nature, or imprinting my innermost feelings, I attempt to energize the viewer to feel and see what I see.
My name is Viorica Ghetu-Vuono. I am a Vango artist. Thank you for visiting my portfolio. I live in Norwalk, CT but grew up in Chisinau, Moldova, having studied Fine Art in Russia, Moldova and Ukraine. Prior to focusing exclusively on fine art, I used my passion for color, nostalgia and beauty in the field of fashion. The travel necessary to support that work, fortunately, gave me exposure to styles in China, Europe and the United States. I am studying various art forms & techniques via new studies with Regina M Thomas in New Haven, CT and Joseph Fama in Norwalk, CT, primarily focused on oil painting and mixed media. I have found a great deal of influence through my recent exposure to the rich history of the United States, fascinated by the amazing transformation of this country and the variety of wonderful people that have made the U.S. so special in such a short time.
