This piece is created from acrylic paint and watercolor, on acid free watercolor paper. It was painted with a palette knife. The defined shapes remind me of islands in a sea of color. The image measures 11" x 14" and for contrast, I have mounted it to a black mat which measures 16" x 20". It is ready to slip into your 16" x 20" frame. This piece is pleasing no matter what orientation you may choose. I have signed it on the back, and sealed it with a matte art varnish for protection.
I am in love with intense color and geometric shapes, and these elements have emerged in my most recent work. I have entitled this painting Fauve, from the French technique using wild, bright colors.
