Creativity does not arise in the mind. It is a universal force that penetrates all of us.
To me, art is simply about surrendering to this energy.

My process is an improvisational dance. Once the initial stroke is made, the remaining strokes arrange themselves recursively. Complexity builds until the composition reaches equilibrium. The less I fixate on the outcome, the more the piece mirrors nature's rhythms.

When we pay attention, the present moment feeds us infinite beauty. My intention is to consume a small piece of it and reflect it back to the world.

Vera Gould is a young emerging artist based in Berkeley, California. She has a dual degree in Mathematics and Chemistry, but chose to pursue her true passion, art. She makes large scale paintings and murals that have a distinctive feminine style and a peculiar intellectual quality. Vera recently had a solo show in San Francisco, and was featured on a billboard in Los Angeles as part of the 2015 billboard creative show.
