One of the interesting things, I love about my art and the influence of others, is repetition and pattern; Art Deco, is just that. For me, it is a great challenge to do repetitive line patterns, whether they geometric, lines, etc. Details, are also essential to Art Deco, along with precision and using an exception color palette. This, particular design itself, was at some point a large sketch idea on canvas. Once, I have a great idea, it covers the canvas. The whole concept, was just to use a repetition number of lines and geometric shapes that eventually ended throughout the whole canvas.
Born and raised in Lakeland, FL, this emerging artist soon started his fascination with color, pattern, and drawing, at the age of 6. Simply, drawing stick figures that included the minute details of design, facial features, and landscapes, has a therapeutic flair for more than just drawing. At age 13, he experimented with life drawing, sculpture, as well as still-life, feeling that details were his best challenge and strength as an artist. Awarded, 2nd place at Lakeland Highlands Middle School, for creating a graphite rendering of a church's architectural building, which entailed everything from the windows, to the parking lot fixtures. Mr. Reynolds, has a unique approach to composition and working in a collage fashion with his various subject matter. His medium is either acrylics as a single applied choice, or his most frequently and versatile preference, which is the mixed medium of combining colored pencil with acrylic. Detail of the work is important that the subject has towards giving the perspective, as well as composition, resulting into Realism. Not only does this movement influence his art, but has also derived from Surrealism, Art Nouveau, Expressionism, and Pop Art, among his various paintings. Graduating, with a B.F.A., in Illustration, from the Savannah College of Art and Design, in 2008.
