Art is a tool that I use to try to better understand my relationship to the world around me. We are often thrown by circumstance into close relationships that can very often feel unnatural to us. With my current focus on technology, I aim to explore how the devices we use everyday in almost every other aspect of our lives can act as a sort of digital paint brush. All of my current artwork is generated using my iphone and then translated into various media either in direct digital printmaking, silkscreening or sculpture. For me, I needed a way to fall in love with the technology that I so often felt consumed by, and begin a new conversation with the view of the world thru the eyes of technology.
Hello World!!! It's been some time since I pushed myself creatively. Like many of us do I found myself led away from my practice for some various reason or distraction and after 5 years I have found my way home. Over the last year I have experienced what feels like a lifetimes worth of change. I haven't always nurtured my creative gifts as prudently as I wish I had. Art has always been a form a therapy that I turn to when I'm lost in the chaos that is our weird lives we all lead. Now I know this will sound odd to some but I found myself at the ripe age of 30 having just come off a job that was literally the biggest goal I had ever set for myself (touring the world with a musician) and at that time I realized I had accomplished everything I ever wanted "to be when I grew up." That being said..... I had no idea what the fuck to do with my life now. Cut to... Almost a year of the unraveling that was me. Art has been my life raft, one I'm happy to have struggled towards.
