As with most of my paintings, I was rather depressed when I started this piece; however, I was apparently very sarcastic that day. I had read an art challenge to paint what would be the most welcoming and motivating thing for your happiness and to paint that to place near your bed, so that you'd see it first thing when you woke up. I painted a gun barrel with empty chambers representing the years that nearly killed me, with one in the chamber dedicated to this year. I actually laughed quite a bit painting this and added some pop art elements to lighten the brevity of the subject matter.
My name is Trevor Parks. I am a budding photographer and artist dabbling in many areas of printmaking, image transfer, and acrylic painting. Although my other artistic ventures are more successful and I am more skilled, I feel more personally attached to my paintings. When I paint, I tend to find that I'm usually trying to convey a feeling I can never quite describe. Otherwise, my paintings are a result of a manic episode of messy painting with no objective than to release pent up anxiety or something. Either way, you're usually seeing "me" and exactly what I feel at that time.
