This series was created for one reason: to emanate light and buoyancy, to infuse the painting process with translucence, vibrancy, movement and light. To create a feeling of balance and serenity.
I discovered I could do this playing with transparent shapes and orbs, over layers of luminous color using liquitex acrylic spray paint about 3 years ago and from there, "Of Light & Air" was born. Enjoy.
I've been a professional artist... forever. I started out in graphic design illustrating agricultural life from animals to equipment for Watt Publishing in rural Illinois. I don’t ever remember not doing art, teaching art or pursuing creative adventure. My range has developed since from detailed drawings and watercolor portraiture to modern abstracts. Currently, I work out of my studio in the Oak Park Arts District near Chicago.
