This is a scene I painted of horses racing at Keeneland Racetrack in Lexington, Kentucky. I love trying to capture the horses in action.
For the background colors, I used a combination mostly of gouache and watercolor, with just a little bit of acrylics. Then to bring the horses to the forefront, I used pen and ink to add more detail and texture. I am very pleased with the results. This is my latest work and I plan to do more.
About Toni McNulty . Growing up in Punta Gorda, Florida where everything was on the water, water skiing, swimming, fishing and most of the streets are still made of brick, my childhood was a very happy one with no shortage of friends in our neighborhood.. My expressive subjects are primarily figures and abstracts as well as interiors, landscapes and still lifes. I love vibrant colors and design, the results are always a mystery, continually surprising and intriguing me. ducation:
