Although I am known for my interdisciplinary artwork which is of a more political nature, these juicy little landscape paintings are my secret pleasure. You could say they are the ying to my yang! I carry paints and brushes wherever I travel, whether by car, train, horse, or plane. Don't be fooled by the trees, fields or skies. My pieces are inspired as much by music as by the splendor of the world I see.
My name is Tatiana Garmendia. I am a professional artist. I was born in Cuba, and have traveled all over Europe studying the masters up close. I live in a suburb of Seattle with my husband Scott, and a cat named Mau. I studied painting at the American University in Paris and at the Museum School in Boston. I earned my MFA in Painting and New Forms from Pratt Art Institute in NY. As a tenured professor, I teach painting and drawing as well maintain a brisk art practice. My work is in various museum collections and has been exhibited widely both in the US and abroad. Thank you for visiting my portfolio! Website: FB:
