Captain Moore operates a tugboat on the Hudson River, alongside the Catskill Mountains of New York. His travels take him from end to end and often beyond as he travels along the eastern seaboard. Many times, though, he can be found working within New York Harbor. The boatmen and women who work these vessels are often witness to some of the most spectacular sky shows put on by Mother Nature . This painting is meant to capture one of those moments.
Residing in the Hudson River Valley of Upstate NY. I am an artist, trail runner, dog foster and lover of all-things nature and that is what continually inspires my work. I work primarily in pencil and acrylic and often alternate between the two, finding that I love the precise realism obtained with a pencil while simultaneously craving the swaths of color I use when I'm painting. The paintings you see here stem from my love of the sky. There is nothing like the color palette that exists during any given sunrise or sunset. I am most active on Instagram (ID: storytreeart) where you can see pieces in progress .
