I have never been to the desert. It's a place I've always wanted to visit, but it's on the other side of the country and aside from flying over it many times, I've yet to make touchdown there.
I've seen countless images of the gorgeous, saturated sunsets that fill the sky at day's end. Bold colors stretched across the sky displaying every last drop of color, until plunged into darkness. Those images have culminated into the painting you see here, the sunset that is contained in my imagination.

Residing in the Hudson River Valley of Upstate NY. I am an artist, trail runner, dog foster and lover of all-things nature and that is what continually inspires my work. I work primarily in pencil and acrylic and often alternate between the two, finding that I love the precise realism obtained with a pencil while simultaneously craving the swaths of color I use when I'm painting. The paintings you see here stem from my love of the sky. There is nothing like the color palette that exists during any given sunrise or sunset. I am most active on Instagram (ID: storytreeart) where you can see pieces in progress .
