Ready to Hang
Part of my "Ocean Series" this piece depicts a group of sailing vessels heading back to their slips. Comprised of red, fuchsia, orange, lt. pink, yellow and purple this is a bold piece, saturated with colors that are meant to reflect the hot, summer day that is coming to an end. Subtle textures are contained in both the sky and the water. The colors run continuously around the sides, allowing it to be displayed without the need for a frame. In addition, the painting is varnished and strung in the back with wire so it can be hung right out of the box.
I love working with these bold luscious colors and hope you enjoy this piece!
Residing in the Hudson River Valley of Upstate NY. I am an artist, trail runner, dog foster and lover of all-things nature and that is what continually inspires my work. I work primarily in pencil and acrylic and often alternate between the two, finding that I love the precise realism obtained with a pencil while simultaneously craving the swaths of color I use when I'm painting. The paintings you see here stem from my love of the sky. There is nothing like the color palette that exists during any given sunrise or sunset. I am most active on Instagram (ID: storytreeart) where you can see pieces in progress .
