Since most of my art depicts landscapes and animals, nearly all of the ideas for my projects come from surrounding myself in nature. All life has grace and beauty; so painting became my way of showing appreciation for all of it. When I see birds, I revel in both their excitement, and also their poise; and after each encounter I have with them, I long to recreate the birds, and capture all of their energy and beauty,
My name is Suzanne Fico. I am a Vango artist. Thank you for visiting my portfolio. I was born and raised in New York, which was where my passion for painting originated. Each day I would watch my mother paint and aspire to be like her. I was fifteen when I created my first oil painting, and since then I've become an award winning artist, dedicated to capturing the beauty in nature. I am largely self-taught, but I have furthered my artistic education at the Lighthouse Art Center and Museum in Jupiter, Florida. Now I have combined my love of painting with teaching, and I am an art instructor at Morselife and other senior centers. I've had the honor of having my paintings exhibited at the Lighthouse Museum and the Artist Studio and Gallery of Tequesta. My medium of choice is Oil and Acrylic Paint. While I love painting all sorts of animals and landscapes, birds remain my favorite subjects and have garnered the most praise and widespread appeal.
