Ready to Hang
There is a marina in my neighborhood where the kayaks and canoes are stacked together when not in use. They create a beautiful, colorful vista amongst the palmetto and live oak trees with the ocean in the background. I am always struck by how they remind me of crayons in a color box. The contrast between man made and organic is striking. This is the first in a series of 4 paintings.
Suzanne Aulds is an award-winning artist with a B.F.A. in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA, where she graduated summa cum laude. She also holds a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, and an A.E.C. in Interior Design from the International Academy of Fashion and Design in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Aulds worked for many years as an interior designer in both Canada and the United States, while also periodically accepting fine art commissions, primarily for paintings. She returned to school in 2008 to pursue a degree in painting, and has exhibited all over the United States since that time. She now paints full-time from her home studio in Hilton Head Island.
