New series of art featuring trees in winter, fall and spring before they leaf out. The focus of the painting then becomes the surrounding landscape and sky. I have created a number of these paintings from 8x10 inch size up to 24 x 30.
I live in Mayberry, USA.... No actually, I live in Salida, Colorado, a small, artistic town, if for no other reason than a LOT of artists call it home. My inspiration blossoms in a tiny upstairs studio that overlooks telephone poles, the alley, backyards, some trees, and a lot of birds and squirrels. It is my private window on the world. Ordinary, but somehow magic happens. Occasionally, you will see my easel set up in front of one of my flower beds. Nature is the most soothing connection in my life. Most of my paintings involve flowers, critters, and fall landscapes. I try to reflect the joy and happiness I feel when gazing upon flowers. My garden scenes are mystical and magical. Most of my paintings are filled with texture and bright colors. I use painting knives to create this texture. I also use bristle brushes to paint my paintings along with turps. I seldom use any other mixing mediums. I am a self-taught painter and have always had a creative side to my life, selling my art at various art shows, shops and galleries since 1989.
