My name is Susan . Yes, it's a pretty simple name and so are my pieces. I call myself an emotional painter, splatter, dripper. I listen to deep house music while I create. The melody determines my brush movements.
Most of my pieces are abstract, but they have a rhyme and reason. I want to inflict emotional responses. I want you to feel what I feel when you stare deeply into a piece.
Please, appreciate my work, even if you don't understand it. Even, if it's not the greatest.
PS. My art is good enough to be displayed in your bathroom. I make "Bathroom Art".
My name is Susan. I've loved art since the moment I could yield a pencil. I took art classes up to my senior year in high school. When every one in art class followed what my instructors were teaching, I went above and beyond (and into a completely different realm). I was born and raised in Fort Worth, TX. Not a lot of creativity is present down there. It's pretty sad. At 22 years old, I dropped the mundane life I settled into and I moved to Oakland/ San Francisco. The Bay Area offered so much to my life, my mind, heart and soul. The idea that it's okay to be who ever you are and create what ever you think is art, became my life. Everyone has a perspective and it's not going to be the same. I create pieces whether you get it or not.
