I am landscape artist that enjoys the complexity of nature while experimenting with unexpected color combinations and different textures within my paintings. I typically mount my pastel artwork onto canvas board for stability and framing purposes. Many of my pieces are inked first then put to paint/pastels. Some pieces are started Plein Air and finished in my studio. My hopes are to spark an emotion that connects the viewer to my painting. Ultimately, my goal is to have viewers feel like they are dreaming in bright, vibration colors when viewing my art.
I am an artist by design…my first memories are about creating and drawing. I was born the youngest of four in the intercity of Philadelphia during race riots, free love, and Vietnam War. At age 11, I was classically trained for one summer. I studied Graphics Arts and was employed as printer, and darkroom camera tech. Then, working as a Graphic Artist, Tech Illustrator, and studio artist for thirteen years before staring my own company as a mural artist prior to having my family. I continued to create and paint, show and sell my work in local galleries. There were many years where I had volunteered as an Art Instructor for schools that had no art program. I have recently joined a meet up group called, “Art Matters,” for intercity kids. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from West Chester University (WCU) in 2011. At WCU, I had completed courses oil painting, sculpture, pottery, and Elementary Ed Art Teacher's courses. I earned my Family and Consumer Science teaching certification in 2016. I continue to take in commission work and show as often as possible. I enjoy creating with pastels, multi-medium, 3 Dimensional pieces, oils, inks, and I design and build dollhouses.
