I find myself truly happy when I am creating. In art, oftentimes akin to life, we succeed and fail. Each and every experience, whether failure or success is part of who we are and important. I find portraying these successes, as well as the failures, through my art to be liberating and part of the human experience.
I don't always have ideas swirling around in my head that need to come out like some artists... I may see something that inspires me and I go from there. Once I have an idea, I often cannot let it go until I stop what I am doing and try to get it down on canvas. The process of trying to capture the vision in my head is always exciting.
My name is Susan Peters. I am a Vango artist. Thank you for visiting my portfolio. I enjoy the creative process for each and every painting I create. Whether I deem it a success or not, I learn something each and every time. I enjoy all types of art, but painting is my passion. I find when I sit down with a paint brush and a palette of beautiful colors I can lose myself. I am drawn to bold colors and textures and it is evidenced through many of my works. I also enjoy experimentation in my work, sometimes I find the result pleasing, sometimes not. But the journey to come to that conclusion is often times more rewarding than the final result. I consider myself to be an emerging artist, as I am just starting to display my work. To date, I have displayed my art throughout North Carolina. I also currently display artwork with Local Color Gallery, which is a cooperative made up of 12 woman artists. I am a member of many local art associations and I have work in private collections across the United States. In addition to painting, I also enjoy horseback riding, yoga, visiting with friends and family, and traveling.
