I often start a painting with an actual scene or place in mind and work from there using my imagination. This painting was inspired by Silver Creek Preserve in Idaho. I have been there several times. I designed the scene, but I think it still has the feel of this natural habitat that is so popular with anglers who wade into the water to try their luck at fly fishing. The creek meanders through the landscape and the water flows gently along. Three tall trees stand guard. It’s a sultry day on the creek.
