This was a piece that was done on Winter Solstice. It was quite cold at the time and I was doing this right off of a busy street, so the waves and the honks I got were really encouraging! A primary pallette of cadmium red and yellow as well as french ultramarine blue was used in this work. Along with zinc white. Framed
My name is Steven James Jorde. I am a Vango artist. Thank you for visiting my portfolio. I was born in Providence, Rhode Island and moved out to Idaho at a very young age. I have always been a person of creative congeniality and as time went on and I got a lot older my interest turned to the impressionist movement. I am a strict plein air, alla prima painter and will rarely (if ever) work from photographs. I recently recieved word that one of my paintings was accepted into a national juried show at the Carr Gallery located in Idaho Falls, Idaho from March 17th to mid June. I have also shown various impressionist works and miniatures at the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho and The Willow Tree Gallery, and am also a member of The Snake River Plein Air Painters. I am currently studying the foundations of art from the Virtual Art Academy and I look forward to working with the fine folks here at Vango. I hope to hear from all of you soon. Kind regards.
