Ready to Hang
I've been painting at a life drawing group for many years. This was a model we had years ago. I always thought of her as a ballerina as she was so tall, slender and graceful. I am including the frame without added cost with this painting. It is a soft red. However the frame has sustained some small marks from being moved around in exhibits.
There's a compulsion to interpret visual moments for this painter. The hope is that a special moment can somehow be preserved forever. I love working in oil paints. They are challenging and forgiving at the same time. Color, texture and light are the main components that I try to give center stage. And then sometimes I just paint a simple painting without much thought at all. It's all creative process.
