Ready to Hang
Queen Anne's Lace may invade my garden and be left in peace until it grows legging and flops over the other plants. But it is so pretty and adds cooling spots of white when Black Eyed Susans overpower with their hot yellow flowers. This is done with quality oil paints on linen and may be hung without a frame.
There's a compulsion to interpret visual moments for this painter. The hope is that a special moment can somehow be preserved forever. I love working in oil paints. They are challenging and forgiving at the same time. Color, texture and light are the main components that I try to give center stage. And then sometimes I just paint a simple painting without much thought at all. It's all creative process.
