Ready to Hang
This is one of those old New England churches that still stands next to a corn field. One can look into the window to see through the gloom to the window on the opposite side. This was painted on stretched linen with quality oils and may be hung without a frame.
There's a compulsion to interpret visual moments for this painter. The hope is that a special moment can somehow be preserved forever. I love working in oil paints. They are challenging and forgiving at the same time. Color, texture and light are the main components that I try to give center stage. And then sometimes I just paint a simple painting without much thought at all. It's all creative process.
