If you stalk the wild asparagus, you've probably had fiddleheads for a springtime treat. Not everyone likes them. To me they are similar to asparagus but more earthy tasting and good with lots of butter and salt and pepper. The season is a short one. This is done with oils and cold wax.

There's a compulsion to interpret visual moments for this painter. The hope is that a special moment can somehow be preserved forever. I love working in oil paints. They are challenging and forgiving at the same time. Color, texture and light are the main components that I try to give center stage. And then sometimes I just paint a simple painting without much thought at all. It's all creative process.
