Ready to Hang
Cattails or Cat-in-Nine Tails are very invasive. They can take over small shallow ponds very quickly. As a kid, we would soak the tops in kerosene and them light them for torches. They do add a great accent to fall bouquets. This is done with quality oils on stretched linen and is ready to hang without a frame.
There's a compulsion to interpret visual moments for this painter. The hope is that a special moment can somehow be preserved forever. I love working in oil paints. They are challenging and forgiving at the same time. Color, texture and light are the main components that I try to give center stage. And then sometimes I just paint a simple painting without much thought at all. It's all creative process.
