Ready to Hang
I started this painting intending to create an abstract sunset. I see the sunset in the painting. The sun is still bright in the sky, and the lake waters churn below. The movement created in this painting adds to the wild nature of the scene.
The subject matter and title to this piece are unique to me. I would like you, the observer, to see your own interpretation. What you see may not be what I see.
This painting is varnished on all sides. It is unframed with deep edges.
I have been an artist all my life. I obtained a BA degree in graphic design and fine art at UW-Whitewater, WI. I worked for many years as a graphic designer and art director. It was about ten years ago that I began to make art my full time profession, specifically abstract art. I work primarily in fluid acrylic paint and heavy body acrylic, using canvas and paper as my two substrates. I have exhibited all over the world and extensively in the USA, winning Best in Show at an exhibition in Chicago, IL. Abroad most notably winning first place for a wine bottle label competition at an Italian exhibition, and a bronze award at an exhibition in London, England. I currently exhibit my work at Raven's Wish Art Gallery and The Elinor Mills Gallery in Janesville WI and Woodwalk Gallery in Egg Harbor WI.
