This piece is entitled Neshamah, the Hebrew word for Spirit or Soul, as it includes the written word in the piece. This work is about air, breath, and Word. He speaks of the phrase Woniya Wakan, which means Holy Air in Sioux. Also included in the piece are map fragments, a sticker with found poetry, pages from a madman's diary - seriously, this guy must have been either a genius or plain nuts, I found this diary full of mathematical and alchemical scribblings, and included a few pages of it pasted onto this painting - and a photograph of mine of telephone wires in the Southern California desert. And of course, some of my signature mountains,
This painting is framed and matted in a black frame and mat, so keep that in mind when visualizing this piece in your space. This is one of my favorites.
I love hip hop. I also love the outdoors. Combine the two, and you get a portal into my world. I create hip hop music and art, rooted in the archives, history, and tradition, and loosed into the urban environment to remind us of our natural world's precedence. I use the moniker Spirit Incorporated in order to reflect the alchemy of spirit and man's earthly work, infused into my creations. But really I just like to draw mountains, letters, schematics, and maps, make beats on my MPC, and go on missions. Peep more artwork and music at spirit-incorporated.com
