The ocean also represents how while I may be working in the city, my feet and my heart remain in the sand mesmerized by the ocean, awaiting my next opportunity to worship it. My time in nature balances and grounds me when I may feel lost or purposeless.

Sometimes I feel anxiety when I think about my role in the unsustainable aspects of our society. It feels like when the winds come the buildings will fall over. The potted plant on the table is a symbol of knowledge exchange. Instead of knowledge of how to live in balance with nature, we have selected immediate rewards and dependence on robots. As stated in the previous painting 'Potted;' we have become like potted plants, easy to pick up and move, however fragile without our cellphones and credit cards.

The close up window on the left side represents my watching in the dark as the ocean sweeps.
