The reason I chose the title for this piece is the menacing appearance of the bird's eyes. In reality the are anything but.
I created this piece in 2014 when I was doing many paintings of Florida birds.
My inspiration in creating this piece is the beautiful coloring of flamingoes set against the lush blues and greens of the tropical landscapes.
My name is Shirley G Campbell. I am a Vango artist. I grew up in the midwest in a family of artists. I have been drawing and painting all my life. I am mostly self/taught but studied briefly at the Memphis College of Art ,and Broome Community College. I also studied and attended workshops with Master Artists Ilya Lerner, Hall Groat II, Dominic Avant, Morgan Samuel Price, and Margaret Egli. I love plein air painting and am a member of the Light Chasers of Sarasota plein air group. I continue to attend workshops and am a member of the Arts Alliance of Lemon Bay in Englewood FL, where I am a displaying artist and the July 2015 Artist of the Month.
