Ready to Hang

This guy is working on a bunch of projects in a high pressure start-up environment where being single threaded is not an option. His eyes are looking in two different directions and major multitasking is happening. Can you keep your cool and get the job done? Do you battle unrealistic expectations and still manage to come out ahead? That describes the world that this techie lives in. This piece is the first in a series of comical techie paintings that I'm working on. The idea developed after having conversations with my husband about working in a start-up.

I’m a self-taught artist, wife, and mother. Art has played a big part in my life since early childhood and I have been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. My passion for art was fueled by an inspirational high school art teacher who gave me the confidence to keep moving forward and experiment with my creativity. I spent most of my young adult life in central Florida where I was inspired by tropical or coastal landscapes, but now that I’m living in the Midwest I find my inspirations changing to fit my new surroundings. Aside from traditional paintings, I love creating silly children’s art, fun cartoon like pop art and mixed media pieces. When I step back and laugh out loud with a big grin on my face, I know that I am accomplishing my goal. Evoking laughter or a smile leaves me feeling great, and that is a feeling I strive to share with others! My favorite medium is acrylic because it is water soluble and easy to work with. I enjoy painting on canvas and wood with brushes and palette knives. Using different tools and supplies gives me a feeling of adventure and freedom and helps promote creativity. I reside in Ann Arbor, Michigan with my husband of eighteen years Rob, son Cole, and cat Lovebug.
