Ready to Hang
The reason I chose the title for this piece is because it is a painting of a beautiful woman with the wind blowing in her hair. It's romantic and peaceful.
I created this piece because I've always loved the romantic movement in art that depicted women as feminine. This was painted in the Springtime right before a storm and the pending storm, the woman and the background light was my inspiration.
I have been drawing since I was five. Once the grownups realized that I was an artist they sent me to the museum for art classes. After I grew up I dabbled in a few different occupations, but eventually came back to my first love and earned a bachelor's of fine art degree in drawing, painting, and printmaking. My work is impressionistic, and romantic. I love doing paintings of horses (especially carousel) and women. Lately, I make my bread and butter doing animal portraits as people are truly (myself included) in love with their pets. I'm excited to have a studio this year in one of our art districts. I hope you'll enjoy browsing my sight and feel free to visit as often as you'd like.
