Ready to Hang

I've always been fascinated by weather. I could look at clouds all day long... and the more dramatic the weather, the more I love it. I'd love to be a storm chaser. I also love the ocean, being from land-locked Minnesota. So I would travel to where the ocean was, and take many photos of dramatic ocean and weather scenes. Turbulence is a combination of some of those photographed scenes. It will add drama and motion to any place it is displayed. It comes in a light bamboo framed, ready to hang.

Many years ago in the frozen north (Minnesota) I was a talented child drawer. That led to a love of painting that I have had all of my life. I received a degree in illustration while in high school. Later I studied fine arts painting at a MN university and have been painting ever since. I paint mostly in acrylic and watercolors but I also do occasional oil paintings. I do portraits, landscapes, and abstracts, and occasional series like wildlife on abstract backgrounds. I'm very interested in environmental causes and often do paintings about those themes. I sometimes work in a series but ultimately paint what inspires me. Originally from MN, I have also lived in San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland, North Dakota, and northern Minnesota. I don't really love to move, but I love to travel, especially to central America. Sometimes I interpret my travel photos later as paintings. I now live in the Atlanta Georgia area with my husband and cute dog. My studio is in my home so I can paint at 3:00 am if I want to, and yes, that happens. I'm a night owl painter, because that's often when the magic happens.
