Ready to Hang
My first Nuclear Human was created 2 years ago and sold quickly. I liked him so much I made another one, with extra nuclear in the second (enamel paint for eyes). He is a mixed media, highly textured man, very bright and colorful and strange. I saw him in a dream and he's from the future, so there is not much more to say about him other than "enjoy". He is on canvas panel, 16" x 20" and ready to hang.
Many years ago in the frozen north (Minnesota) I was a talented child drawer. That led to a love of painting that I have had all of my life. I received a degree in illustration while in high school. Later I studied fine arts painting at a MN university and have been painting ever since. I paint mostly in acrylic and watercolors but I also do occasional oil paintings. I do portraits, landscapes, and abstracts, and occasional series like wildlife on abstract backgrounds. I'm very interested in environmental causes and often do paintings about those themes. I sometimes work in a series but ultimately paint what inspires me. Originally from MN, I have also lived in San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland, North Dakota, and northern Minnesota. I don't really love to move, but I love to travel, especially to central America. Sometimes I interpret my travel photos later as paintings. I now live in the Atlanta Georgia area with my husband and cute dog. My studio is in my home so I can paint at 3:00 am if I want to, and yes, that happens. I'm a night owl painter, because that's often when the magic happens.
