Ready to Hang

This is an abstract painting based on science.
It's acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas, and basically a beautiful abstract in many colors: Greens, purples and blues with a dash of gold.
I have been interested in science all my life. This piece is inspired by climate change, and came about as I wondered if our atmosphere is headed towards something like Venus.
If you want to ignore the science of this painting, it's a beautiful, highly textured abstract with lots of movement and energy.
This painting is gallery wrapped with painted edges, reading for hanging, but not framed.

Many years ago in the frozen north (Minnesota) I was a talented child drawer. That led to a love of painting that I have had all of my life. I received a degree in illustration while in high school. Later I studied fine arts painting at a MN university and have been painting ever since. I paint mostly in acrylic and watercolors but I also do occasional oil paintings. I do portraits, landscapes, and abstracts, and occasional series like wildlife on abstract backgrounds. I'm very interested in environmental causes and often do paintings about those themes. I sometimes work in a series but ultimately paint what inspires me. Originally from MN, I have also lived in San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland, North Dakota, and northern Minnesota. I don't really love to move, but I love to travel, especially to central America. Sometimes I interpret my travel photos later as paintings. I now live in the Atlanta Georgia area with my husband and cute dog. My studio is in my home so I can paint at 3:00 am if I want to, and yes, that happens. I'm a night owl painter, because that's often when the magic happens.
