Ready to Hang
Photo Bomb was my first "live" painting. I painted this during an art show and had random people chime in with colors, the number of giraffes, expressions and more. I was petrified of painting in public but this was a blast! I have a special place in my heart for giraffes. The first year I lived in Kenya I stayed with an incredible family that lives on the grounds of a giraffe sanctuary in Karen, Kenya, just outside Nairobi. The famous Giraffe Manor shares the same land. Each morning and evening giraffe would stroll onto the property looking for food or to come and hang by the campfire. It's the most surreal feeling to be next to such an insanely majestic creature. They are quickly becoming my favorite subject to paint. This piece would be awesome in a nursery or as a quirky pop of color in a living room!!
I have spent the last decade working in adventure travel, particularly safaris in East Africa. I grew up with a sketchbook or paintbrush in hand. At Boston College I majored in business but did a concentration in art in order to stay in touch with my creative side. I have always been obsessed and inspired by colorful art from all over the world. I love bringing pops of color into spaces. Contact me if you would like a customized piece.
