My world shrank 2 years ago. It shrank to 6lbs. and 20" that needed lots of quiet and all my attention. He was wonderful but I felt so enclosed. Air pollution from nearby forest fires kept us indoors; feeding issues kept us on the couch and me out of the studio...the walls were closing in. I'd fantasize about broad vistas, about being in the middle of a vast wilderness with adventure on every side and belting out a cry of frustration and joy. I'm a house cat at heart so I simply painted my war cry into these Utah mountains--the red-violet and pink cliffs are the power of my resounding echo. The cats are our own, taking a journey that I did not. This painting still fills me with a sense of triumph.
