This starling is an anomaly, taking some alone time from his flock. Starlings are vastly social creatures and as a group they often drive out native bird populations. But this little guy is just taking some time to himself, away from the fray. This piece is from a series I created about animals seeking shelter at nightfall as a metaphor for comfort in the face of mortality.
Sarah Tenney is a lifelong creator whose forte is painting. Since earning a BFA she has shown her work a few dozen times and has collectors across the US, Canada and Australia.
