Strands of Strain is my attempt to represent those dark moments in which a single, terrible event begins to burden one's mind. It tears a bottomless black hole through all the beautiful and happy moments of someones life. It seems impossible to pull Life's tapestry back together, but it's important to try. Sometimes the the strands, taunt with strain, pull through, but other times, the darkness keeps tearing.

Sarah Pippins is a New Media artist who just recently earned her BFA in New Media Arts through the University of North Texas in Denton. Her gallery work, which has been shown in Denton and DFW, usually consists of video installations and interactive works, but she also enjoys painting and drawing. She has several pieces that are in private collections across Texas. Drawing and painting gives her a chance to study the beauty in every day life, or to work through her emotions and analyze her relationships with herself and others. She hopes that her art can help inspire others to search for a deeper understanding of themselves, as well.
