The portrait is of a friend of mine who I miss dearly. Her struggle with addiction and homelessness unfortunately has left her missing for now a long period of time. I painted this portrait while she was relapsing and staying with my girlfriend and I. She is an urban styled artist and musician. She has a very creative mind and a strong personality I hope you can feel from this representation.
Born to a American father and Filipino mother in Houston, Texas then raised in the Philippines for most of my childhood. I now live in Denver, Colorado with my girlfriend and two pet rats where I work and go to school as a art major. Some of my current interest include my cultural heritage, living with Dyslexia, the different states of consciousness. I am inspired by the styles of surreal and visionary art. I work in a variety of mediums: painting in acrylic and oils, drawing, photography, video, and digital graphics. The arts has always been a part of my life. I've been drawing since I was two years old. While attending Clear Springs High school I was in the Theatre Tech program for two years and the Audio/Video program for three years. I began experimenting with photography around that time too. Telling a story though a camera, on the stage and working with a film crew captured my imagination. I went to college first as a Film major but I switched to a Art major after finding myself gravitating to explore other forms of visual arts to play more with other mediums to express and in turn learn more. Award: In spring 2015 I placed First in Painting in the Bosque Gallery at Lonestar-Cyfair Community College. You can see more of my work on my website: and email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org
