"Hello Kitty at the Sock Hop" an Original Oil Painting by Sandra Fremgen
Hello Kitty is getting her 50's groove on at the Sock Hop! She does the "Twist and Shout" in her poodle skirt and saddle shoes. Can Dear Daniel keep up with her?
This painting is based on the Hello Kitty I got at Build a Bear. I loved picking out this poodle skirt outfit and saddle shoes for her because I am a big fan of the 1950's look. As a swing dancer myself, I have gone to plenty of sock hops!

Hello! For the past 9 years, I have worked as a surface designer for the Stationery and Gift Industry. You may have seen some of my greeting cards, paper boxes, journals, wall plaques and other gift items at stores such as Barnes and Noble, TJ MAXX, Michael's Arts and Crafts and Macy's. I love putting my artwork onto gift items because it gives the mass public access to something beautiful at an affordable cost. When I'm not designing, I am telling stories through my paintings. I especially enjoy painting cute animals placed in settings from my child hood memories. On the flip side, I also love the retro 1940-1960's style and express that through PANDA and Me. This is an exciting time to be an artist as we get to combine new techniques (such as digital painting) with the old (traditional painting done by hand).
