Like if I am a mirror, that transposes the music vibrations and the structures formed in my mind to the canvas. The sounds touches me, and I touch the canvas with the colors, but not as an exactly reflection, instead as a refraction - after the music goes inside me, it walks throw my inner feelings and it goes out transformed by my inside world. I transpose these structures that comes in my mind.
The artwork was transposed from the following sequence of musics:
Liebesträume, S. 541 - No. 3, Oh Lieb, so lang du lieben kannst in A-Flat Major
Venezia e Napoli S. 159 - III. Tarantella
Fantasia, quasi sonata: „D’Aprés une lecture de Danté“
Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 1, in E flat Major - Quasi adagio-Allegretto vivace-Allegro animato
Concert Study for Piano No. 2, „Gnomenreigen“
Consolation in E Major
Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2, in C sharp Minor
Samantha Tiussi is a mixed media artist born in Rio de Janeiro. Her art practice is very diversified in form - moving fluidly through painting, installation and music. Her first contact with art was through music. She studied piano as a child and went on to complete her degree in visual communication at Rio de Janeiro - Brazil. Her practice thrives on a dialogue between the visual arts and music taking inspiration from the work of Wassily Kandinsky, John Cage and Eric Satie as well as aspects of eastern thought. Her recent works on canvas incorporate painting with mixed media and objects as pieces form old pianos. In 2017 she began a series of sound compositions combining intense, semi-biographical spoken word ‘dialogues’ with her own piano compositions. She currently lives and works in Berlin.
