I studied abroad in Athens, Greece, during my years at college. It was a most magnificent experience, and part of my heart was resided there ever since. During one our class trips we visited a monastery in the Argolid. Romantic vignettes were in abundance and I think I took a hundred photos while I was there. Everywhere I looked I saw incredible sights and compositions that somehow were naturally occurring.
I had acquired a collection of Rembetika (traditional Greek music) during my trip and I listened to most of it while I painted this one. Just thinking about all of this gives me a craving for Baklava!
