I believe life is colorful and my art is a depiction of all colors of life. I use a lot of colors and to create lively paintings.

I am Saloni Kumar. I live in California, USA. I am an Artist, who is also a daughter, a wife and a mother of two daughters. I have been in love with art since my childhood. Growing up with my mother who is an artist, my house seemed like a huge art gallery and i was always fascinated by paintings and colours, so even before I knew, I began to dream of being an artist myself. For me, an Artist was someone who paints for personal gratification like my mother did. I never thought of building a career out of it or even formally studying art as building an art career was not encouraged in those days. Over the years of practice, I have learnt the fundamentals of Charcoals, watercolours, oil, pastels and Acrylic. While I have explored quite a lot of mediums, Oil remains my favourite because of its texture and freedom to experiment. I always draw my perception of what I see and feel and create a parallel of what exists. But I would have fallen prey to the corporate world of desk jobs and pay checks had it not been for my husband, who, like my mother, saw what I truly liked and supported to pursue it. And so my professional journey as an artist began only after I got married, although I had been working on my skill since I was a child and it had first started at the Art cottage in my school The Maharani Gayatri Devi School. I appreciate you being a part of my artistic journey and hope you enjoy my artwork as much as I have enjoyed creating them. I will always keep exploring and creating different artworks. Happy colourful life to all.
