I have been a visionary all my life. I have been drawing, painting, making stuff to record my journey since I can remember. I have profound dreams and active contemplations showing me images about transformation and inner journeys.
Painting with egg tempera is almost a magical experience. I use a whole egg and varnish creating an under painting of all the high lights. The egg bonds and creates a resist and the oil colors are glazed on top. It glows. The work I have been painting for the last eighteen years mainly focuses on transformation, from fear to trust.
A painting will call to me to be created. Some can follow me for years until I am ready to paint it. Sometimes they just seem to come at me and I paint them in a series.
I love to paint, color glazing, over color layer, holding a moment in time. It is a gift this life. That is why I paint.
