This piece, I think, was created out of my incredible fear of death. Death terrifies me. I've coped with that by creating these skulls, whether it's one like this that feels very glamorous and ornate, or simply by creating skulls with poka dots. This piece brings death to an almost celebrated place, a pedestal of sorts, for me. I find comfort in that.

Hello, vast online world of art buyers and artists alike. I'd like to quite informally introduce myself, although I do think the work will speak much more accurately than a biography. To me, biographies have always felt warped. We see each other through only our eyes, we can look at another being and be totally and completely mesmerized, but only by what they show us. Only what's on the outside. When writing a biography though, or anything about yourself really, it becomes much more difficult. To truly write about yourself you need to be brutally honest, show every last color or feeling, let it all out. I just wasted about 70% of the wonderful thousand character space left by the Vango executives on largely off-topic ramblings. I apologize. My name is Rylan Talerico. I am an artist, sort of. It's a bit of a self-proclaimed title really. I'm not quite sure anyone could really be deemed an artist by anyone but themselves. For me, art has always been a personal thing first. Whatever I feel like making becomes my art, whether it be painting or music or pottery, anything really. Its self proclaimed.
