RIPPLE IN STILL WATER!! This piece was created with a free-flowing, mixed-medium type of process. Painting Jerry while listening to the music to capture the music of the grateful dead and Jerry's essence, I used a large rubber brush for most of it with broad strokes and bright, vibrant paint. I think the final result has the energy and flow of both Jerry and the Dead spirit.
Welcome to my Vango store! My name is Ryan and I am the artist. I've been painting and drawing since I was a kid. I attended Illinois State and North Carolina State for art and design. After graduating I pursued design to make a career out of it but happily I've had the freedom and capacity to go back to explore my original love of art in recent years. I originally created this style to have artwork for my house but as people kept telling me they would buy this, I kept making more. I now have hundreds of pieces. I did mostly rock music for a long time, as that is my passion, but I've also branched out to doing many other subjects. I truly enjoy both the digital and traditional aspects of the process. Both are relaxing and inspiring. Something about being able to create something with no rules has a great liberating feeling to it. Thanks for your interest!
