My paintings depict scenes in abstracted realism, to require the viewer to use their imagination. For me, each painting has a different mood and objective- each one requires a unique treatment. The choice of technique depends on my mood and goals. Though I paint from photographs, I look beyond the actual subject to discern it’s more abstract qualities. I am the art director- I select the elements to display, suggest, or hide.
I rediscovered watercolor in 2011 after a 12 absence from painting. Since then my work has been accepted in numerous national juried exhibitions and won awards in competitions such as: The American Watercolor Society Annual International Exhibition, Georgia Watercolor Society Annual Exhibition, and Watercolor Society of North Carolina. My paintings have been featured in Splash 15, and Splash 16 hardcover books (published by F&W Media) and I was featured in the One's to Watch article in Watercolor Artists Magazine You can visit my website at: rfoxphoto.com
